An old cultivar of French rose of a shrubby habit, reaching 1-1.5 m height.
WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE: Flowers in a delicate shade of pink, fragrant, double, cup-shaped, average 9 cm across, of originally arranged petals, gathered in inflorescences several pieces each. They bloom in June just once. Light green, matt, small leaves.
HOW IT GROWS: Shrubby habit; grows up to 1-1.5 m high, shoots may require supports.
WHERE TO PLANT: It grows well in almost any soil, but it does not tolerate compact and heavy soils or very sandy and dry ones. It thrives in a light, moderately permeable ground with a slightly acid or neutral pH. Requires a sunny or semi-shaded position.
HOW TO PLANT AND GROW: Before planting, immerse the potted plant in a water-filled container for 10-30 min. Place the plant in a 40 x 40 x 40 cm pit, with a 10-cm layer of well-rotten manure or compost soil at the bottom, 0.5-1 cm deeper than it was before. Fill the pit with fertile soil. The plant does not require regular pruning. The only procedure to keep in mind is removal of dead or damaged shoots in spring. Any formative pruning can be carried out after flowering. In plants growing on their own root, the outgrowths from the rootstock do not occur.
HOW TO APPLY: The cultivar is recommended for home gardens, housing estate greenery and parks, both in formal or naturalistic settings.
ORIGIN: Raised by Jean-Pierre Vibert in 1821, France.
