A new, Polish cultivar, robust and undemanding. Bright red, bell-shaped flowers appear abundantly from summer until autumn. It is excellent for growing along wind covers and all types of supports.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE: Mid-sized flowers, 8-12 cm in diameter, consist of 4 bell-shaped sepals, bright red, velvety with green variegation around the tips. Stamens are yellow-green anthers on green filaments. It blooms from June till October. Leaves pinnate, 5 leaflets to a stem. New shoots are purple-green.

HOW IT GROWS: Climber; climbs with leaf petioles. Reaches 2-3 m height.

WHERE TO PLANT: Undemanding and resistant cultivar. Best suited for well-lit locations. Thrives in fertile, moderately moist soils, but will grow also in average or even poor soils. Soil pH should be neutral to slightly acidic. Hardy (zone 4-9).

HOW TO PLANT AND GROW: Place the plant in a pit (60 x 60 x 60 cm) with fertile soil and a 10 cm draining layer at the bottom, 5-10 cm deeper than it grew in the container (planting tutorial). The cultivar is easy to maintain. In early spring remove the dead shoots, and prune the live ones at 20-50 cm above the ground (pruning tutorial). In mid-April it should be supplemented with a slow-release fertilizer (e.g. Osmocote 5˗6M). Water during the season.

HOW TO APPLY: It works excellently on wind covers, fences and all types of garden supports. The background of shrubs or conifers nicely offsets the bright flowers. It may be used as ground cover. Applicable in public greenery.
