Slow-growing vine similar to wisteria, but blooming in summer. Flowers are light violet-pink gathered in loose clusters 25-35 cm long. Blooming in June and July. Leaves are pinnate, consisting usually of 13 narrow ovate leaflets. Stems twine anticlockwise around supports. It may freeze during harsher winters. This variety starts blooming in the 4th-5th year after planting. Grows up to 2-2,5 m. Native to Japan and Korea. Most abundant blooming occurs in sunny and sheltered sites. The plant tolerates average soil. Suitable for training along lower supports or as a shrub.
